Forget crop circles and any-such lame diversions: the good people of Inakadate, Japan, know how to spoil a perfectly adequate rice field.

Whoosh!

Cease and Desist

2007
07.23

I noticed today that a certain Radu Dragulescu of Timisoara, Romania, had copied some of my blog entries to his site, Yamzy Network.

Imitation being the sincerest form of flattery, I fired off a cease and desist e-mail and registered postal letter to him requiring him under the laws of the European Union and/or Romania to, well, cease and desist his nefarious activities of copying my writings and research results to his site.

For example:

I gave that gentleman until 7 August 2007 to sort this thing out, and, if I have not received any “affirmative response” indicating he is fully complying with my requirements, “I shall take further action”.

O Tempora, O Mores!

UPDATE 2008-01-09: The Yamzy Network site seems to be out of service.

Visualizing Wikipedia

If you’re looking to visualize — mindmap — an entry of Wikipedia, look no further than WikiMindMap. It can map your query to a tree-like structure that helps you to get a visual overview of the entry’s relationships to other relevant topics.

Have a look, for example, how WikiMindMap maps “Myanmar”.

Aythaya Vineyard, Shan State, Myanmar

The blue hills of Myanmar’s Shan State cradle the country’s first wine-growing enterprise, Myanmar Vineyards. Located near the Inle Lake, a small town of Aythaya has given its name for the vineyard’s pioneer products, Aythaya Red (a cuvée from Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes), Rosé (Moscato), and White (Sauvignon Blanc).

Has anybody had the chance of tasting these rarities?
